Senior Java Developer and Trainer – Dublin – €450-500 Per Day

Our partner is an international financial services and Insurance company with long established presence in the Irish, European and North American Markets.
They now have a vacancy for a Senior Java Developer and Trainer.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience developing Java web services and Spring components, a track record of high-quality delivery, combined with a keen appetite for all aspects of software development. They should also have a strong track record of delivering technical training to IT professionals, both one on one and to groups
The individual will work closely with senior software developers and architects to ensure compliance with standards & conventions, while the training they provide The training will encompass all aspects of software engineering from configuration through java coding to continuous delivery.
This is a contract role, for an initial period of 6 months with a strong probability of extension. With generous rates, a superb working environment and an opportunity to gain experience in the wider European market this role is a unique opportunity for ambitious developers.
Essential Candidate Requirements
o 5+ years Java programming experience
o Understanding of Agile Methodologies such as Scrum
o Sound knowledge of software engineering principles and theory
o Knowledge and experience of Spring, Spring Boot and Java EE
o Knowledge and experience of Angular, npm, TypeScript, HTML and CSS (These skills may be optional based on what the candidate will be working on)
o Experience with applications servers and in particular IBM Websphere
o Unit and Integration testing (Junit and Mocking)
o Web services (SOAP and REST)
o Hibernate, SQL
o Maven
o Experience using JIRA
o German Language – Verbal and Written
o Previous experience in the Financial Services Industry
o German Language skills, Verbal and Written – While not necessarily at an advanced level, prospective candidates should have the ability to communicate with counterparts in Germany.
