ICT Healthcare Support – Dublin – €170-190 Per day

About the Role

A large State Funded Hospital Group requires an ICT Service Desk Analyst to Join their busy time. This role is initially offered on a contract basis with generous daily rates but there is a strong probability of the right candidate (Subject to good working record) being offered permanent employment opportunities in the future.

The main focus of this role is to provide 1st & 2nd level ICT technical support to hospital users and ensure all calls are resolved in an effective and timely manner. It offers ambitious IT support roles the chance to develop their career in a busy but dynamic working environment while gaining significant support experience in an enterprise environment.

Responsibilities of Role

* Provide 1st level ICT technical support to hospital users.

* Ensure all calls are resolved in an effective and timely manner.

* Log all ICT Service Desk calls on Call Logging System

* Log all relevant calls with 3rd Party Suppliers, maintaining a list of equipment taken off-site and following up on outstanding calls.

* Provide long lasting solutions for regularly occurring problems

* Coordinate and liaise with 3rd party vendors providing ICT services to CHI @ Crumlin.

* Assisting in planning and implementing the rollout of new software applications, operating systems, hardware etc. to users.

* Provide 1st level infrastructural support for a number of hospital systems.

* Computer Operations duties (e.g. Patient Administration System).

* From time to time it will be necessary to work out of hours to resolve problems or work on projects.

* To monitor Hospital users via Service Desk activities and identify opportunities for improved or new services.

* Constantly review the processes within the Service Desk and provide opportunities for improvement where necessary.

* Participate in the on-call support service operated by the Information Technology Department.

* Work in close cooperation with other members of the ICT team, in particular Network Administration, in order to deliver quality services to our users

* Participate in administrative/clerical functions for the Department to include:

* Maintaining / Filing all relevant documentation / application forms / contracts etc.

Monitor and maintain adequate stocks of stationery /consumables

* Purchasing Duties

* Dealing with ICT Service Desk mail

* To partake in other adhoc duties within the ICT Department which may arise from time to time.

Essential Candidate requirements:

  • 2+ Years previous experience in Level 1 and 2 technician roles
  • Technical knowledge of Active directory, Windows Server environment, network and telecom components (Knowledge of Cisco Systems, VM Ware, Citrix and other related technologies particularly welcome)
  • Third Level degree which includes courses in computer programming, systems analysis, system development, systems engineering, OR Have acquired through experience and/or professional certification the Core ITskills outlined above
  • Strong understanding of Customer Service Concept – Ability to show patience, empathy and professionalism at all times
  • Strong communications skills, good team work ethic
  • Immediate availability to work in Ireland or the wider EU without need for Visa or CSP – This employer is unable to provide sponsorship for Visas at the current time
