Level 1 Technical Support Engineer – Donegal – €150 Per Day

Local Government Agency based in Co Donegal requires a Level 1 Technical Support Engineer to support their internal I.S. Technical Support Team at Headquarters.

While this role is initially offered on a day rate contract basis for a period of 3 months, there is a high probability of extension beyond this time frame.

The Level 1 Technical Support Engineer will support the I.S. Technical Support Team providing technical assistance to network users across the complete range of technology, networks and systems. The team is responsible for delivering a high quality, efficient and effective support service to our 1,000+ users.

Responsibilities of Role

* Providing hardware/software support by telephone, email, callout or via remote tools

* Installing and configuring new (Windows) computers, notebooks, printers, multi-function devices and telephone handsets

* Installing software, upgrading operating systems (Windows 7 to Windows 10) and software version upgrades

* Supporting Users of major Corporate Systems – Agresso, Core HR, iPlan, iHouse, Sierra LMS, Softco & MailMeter

* Support of Print Management Solutions

* Support for audiovisual facilities, video conferencing and microphones

* Utilising the Council’s Contact Management System in Microsoft Dynamics CRM

* Other duties as required contributing to the delivery of our Helpdesk service to our users.

Essential Candidate Requirements

* Ideally 1+ Years’ experience in a similar role – Candidates must be able to demonstrate how their previous experience would enable them to fulfil all of the responsibilities outlined above (College placements of significant duration can count towards experience requirement).

* An appropriate 3rd level qualification (Or appropriate equivalent), awarded by an organisation recognised in the Republic of Ireland

* Formal Microsoft Qualifications or substantial, relevant experience in the management of other MS technologies

* A relevant CISCO networking qualification (CCNA/CCNP) OR substantial relevant experience in working this technology

* Excellent communications skills, written and verbal
